Padraig Leary, age 15, of Detroit, MI, started racing in 2019 at the age of 12. Prior to racing, he was never involved in any other sports. His current USA Cycling Category is 4 for Road and 2 for Track. When not training, Padraig likes racing and sleeping. He really enjoys eating sushi, pho and macaroni and cheese (however he can’t eat cheese). Padraig’s favorite cyclist is Clever Martinez because he helped him with racing and helped him get a bike. Padraig says, “Clever is one of the fastest crit racers in America and he is awesome.” Padraig really looks forward to having a great season with the Cleveland Cycling Academy and showing his best cycling form at the following races: Barry-Roubaix in Barry County, MI, USA Cycling Road Nationals, Tour of America's Dairyland pro-am cycling series throughout Wisconsin, 4 Jours de Geneve in Switzerland, and lastly, USA Track Nationals. “We are extremely excited to bring Padraig onto CCA and to see him grow and develop as a cyclist and a person.
