Owen Hancock, age 17, of Brunswick, OH. Owen is one of Northeast Ohio’s top young future cyclists. He joins CCA after spending his first-year racing under RGF Sports in 2022 in the eleven events he competed at this past year. Owen is a swimmer at Brunswick High School and will be going into his Senior year this fall. “Hancock’s win at the Ohio State Road Race Championships in Granville, OH the Schoolyard Rumble Ohio State Criterium Championships in Mason, OH, shows his versatility. We are so delighted to make Owen our first official academy signing. In addition to being a great athlete with lots of future potential in the sport, he embodies all the attributes needed to be a future high-level cyclist,” said CCA founder, Robert “Polo” Fernandez. "I am excited for the opportunity CCA has given me to grow and achieve success in cycling,” said Owen. Who do you admire the most? Caeleb Dressel. Caeleb is a gold medal Olympic swimmer who exemplifies hard work, dedication, and humility. What was your favorite race in 2022? My favorite race in 2022 was the Granville Road Race. The course suited itself to my abilities with the amount of climbing. My favorite race atmosphere was Whiskey City. Racing through a small town was a lot of fun. When you are not training how do you like to spend your time? When not cycling I like to spend time training for swimming and spending time with my dogs.
