DANIEL LAUSIN

Managing Director of Race Advisory, U21 Mentor, Cat 1/2 Rider

Bio: Daniel Lausin was born and raised in Cleveland, OH and now resides in Cleveland Heights, OH with his wife Linda. He currently works at a local industrial and commercial real estate company doing AutoCAD and project management. He earned his degree at Kent State University.

Daniel started to focus on cycling in his freshman year of college and quickly progressed to competing at a national and international level. His main focus is road racing but has experience in other events such as ultra endurance events (2nd at the 300 mile Mississippi Delta Epic) and cyclocross. He enjoys technical courses and is the reason he enjoyed his experience of racing Kermesses in Belgium so much.

Daniel has raced in a handful of UCI races and has extensive experience in the domestic pro criterium and road race scene. His personal career highlight was at the annual Snake Alley Criterium on Memorial Day weekend in Burlington, Iowa. Daniel took 3rd overall for the weekend and also lapped the field (stacked with world class athletes) for 3rd in one race.

Daniel knows how important having a strong support group is in cycling. He was fortunate to have a supportive family to help him get to races and a good team (even though it wasn't local) to encourage growth, giving him an opportunity to race across the country.

Daniel is excited to participate in the Cleveland Cycling Academy with the hope of passing along things he has learned through his racing career and life experiences, as well as passing along all the kindness others have done for him during his travels.

Role: Daniel’s responsibilities include:

- Establishing the CCA Grassroots Community Outreach Program.
- Collaborating with BOD on rider identification, conducting interviewing and recruitment for both teams.
- Designing and collaborating on training programs for youth riders.
- Advising youth cyclists with the experience he gained from racing around the world.
- Collaborating with BODs on race schedule and traveling logistics for both teams.
- Networking to gain sponsors, partnerships and donors.
