Paul started racing in college at Valparaiso University in 1992 when his basketball dreams fell flat. He started collegiate racing, moved on to race four years on professional teams and continued to race on amateur teams after finishing law school in 2004.   

He has enjoyed being part of teams that developed amateur racers to compete successfully at national level events and move on to professional teams. He has been part of the Gomart/West Virginia, Texas Roadhouse, Panther/RGF, Panther/Competitive Cyclist, Netherland Rubber and First Internet Bank teams.   

Paul is an eight-time US National Champ, multi-time Ohio state road race, criterium, time trial and cyclocross winner. His best cycling memories are the races that teammates won because of the team working together for a single goal.   
Paul has two children and enjoyed years of being a swim team parent and loves time in the mountains with his wife Lisa, who has top notch feed zone skills!
