Cameron Wyant, age 18, of Boardman, OH, started racing in 2019 at age 15. His dad, John, introduced him to cycling as a good way to keep healthy and have fun. Cameron has played a number of sports growing up, such as soccer, baseball, discus throw, shot put, and football. Currently, Cameron is a USA Category 3 road racer going into his 4th year of racing. When not racing, Cameron enjoys hanging out with friends and working on bikes. His focus in 2023 as a teammate of the U21 CCA team include: Tour of America's Dairyland pro-am cycling series throughout Wisconsin, the Granville Road Race - Ohio State Championships, RATL in Munroe Falls, OH, and possibly USA Cycling Nationals. "We are excited to have Cameron on the U21 Cleveland Cycling Academy team. We feel his strong desire to work hard and his openness to learn and grow as an athlete will make him a perfect teammate," said Robert "Polo" Fernandez. Who do you admire the most? David Goggins served our country in Iraq. Once retired from the Navy Seals, he went on to bike, run, and swim ultra-endurance. He completed most races without training. But as his motto goes, “I don’t stop when I’m tired, I stop when I’m done.” David Goggins. What was your favorite race in 2022? USA Nats crit - this Race was just all about technique and recovering underload, being able to be leaned on during corners then popping up on the pedals during the straight sections is just something I love. To have the confidence to know you have the strength and understanding to get through the race helps a lot. When you are not training how do you like to spend your time? Hanging out with friends and working on bikes.
