Welcome to the Cleveland Cycling Academy Website! I was born in Cleveland and grew up in the city. As a competitive cyclist for many decades, creating this program has been a long-time dream of mine. Together, we can create a gateway into the sport and give aspiring, competitive youth cyclists a start, opportunities and the resources they need to become professional athletes. We are beyond excited and grateful to have an extremely talented and brilliant Board of Directors, Masters Team, generous sponsors and volunteers who are helping navigate this program to its highest potential. I could not do this without the support and collaboration of these stellar individuals as well as my family and friends. Sincerely,Robert FernandezFounder & President
The Cleveland Cycling Academy is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit amateur competitive cycling team and youth development program based in the Great Lakes Region. Cleveland and the Great Lakes Region is in need of a nonprofit competitive cycling team and youth developmental program. After conducting market research, it is clear the sport of competitive cycling has diminished with our youth. As a result of this, there is a lack of competitive youth cyclists in our area. A program is needed to identify, financially support and develop aspiring competitive youth cyclists. Cycling is a difficult sport to start financially and physically. Cycling is especially difficult to start if a young person does not have a family member or close friend who is already an experienced competitive cyclist. We need to create a gateway into the sport of cycling and a support system for new riders.
The CCA's mission is to identify, develop, mentor and financially support aspiring competitive youth cyclists in Cleveland and the Great Lakes Region.
The CCA's purpose is to create a positive environment and support system for all team members to excel and reach their goals individually and together.
We support our teammates and always strive to work well together for the common good of the organization. We lead by setting positive examples in all aspects of life.
We give back. Our Masters and Mentors Team provides their skills and expertise to help our youth team members succeed. It's a win, win for everyone.
We have fun and cheer each other on! We de-escalate stressful or high-pressure situations which boosts success. We celebrate big and small accomplishments.
We work together for the growth of the organization. We each contribute our best skills and collaborate to continuously improve our program.
We set goals and empower everyone to succeed. We work hard and stay focused individually and collectively to ensure positive future results.
We are compassionate and kind. We always understand the challenges of others and proactively lend a helping hand to teammates and the entire cycling community.
We value and listen to what others have to say, always assuming good intent. We encourage all individuals to speak up and share their opinions. We understand that constructive dialogue and feedback is not only helpful, but critically important to our collective success and, therefore, appreciated.
